Welcome to the Human Factors Interest Group (HFIG), affiliated with the Human Factors Laboratories in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. HFIG is a student chapter of Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES). HFIG members consist of students and faculty members that are affiliated with the University of Toronto and local professional who are interested in the field of Human Factors. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, the membership in HFIG is free.

True to the multi-disciplinary nature of Human Factors, this year we have gathered an exceptional executive team that represents not only all three laboratories in the Human Factors program, but also members from the Psychology department - ensuring a diversified and interesting year of events. Died peacefully at Toronto Grace Hospital May 14, 2011 after a long, determined struggle with cancer and stroke. Born July 25, 1926 in Stirling, Scotland, son of Daniel Foley of Waterford City and Margaret Prendergast of Kells, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland. Predeceased by brothers (Msgr) Donal and Colum Foley and beloved first grandchild Lauren Foley. He leaves a daughter and a son by his first wife Mary Joan (Hendry) Barsvary, Caroline Stephens (Peter) and David Foley, sons by his second wife Joan (Mason) Foley, Brian and Colin Foley, and grandchildren, Julia, Patrick, Caitlin and Melinda.

The new HFIG website is now up and running! Users can now easily manage their own profiles directly, and adding/modifying content has been drastically simplified, no longer requiring the bottleneck of posting job listings/event details/news items via the webmaster.  You can sign up to the mailing list, get in touch with other HFIG members, and now you can easily keep up-to-date with HFIG via our brand new RSS feed.
